SG-552 Commando
The SG-552 Commando was introduced in 1998 and is the shortest version of the SG-550 family of assault rifles. It differs from the SG-550 in having a much shorter barrel and handguard and the recoil spring is mounted differently. During the last production years it was available with a longer barrel as the SG-552 LB. When upgraded with the SG-553 recoil spring assembly it is known as SG-552 A1.
SG-553
The SG-553 is a product improved version of the SG-552 introduced in 2009. It solves several reliability issues of the SG-552 and features the standard SG-550 recoil spring assembly. A SG-553 LB with longer barrel is also available. Since it was introduced at a later date a Picatinny rail for optical sights is standard and a quad rail forearm can be fitted instead of the polymer one.
SG-553R
Variant of the SG-553 chambered in 7.62x39mm Soviet. This was introduced around 2014. The SG-553R uses standard AKM pattern rock and lock magazines. The barrel is slightly shorter than that of the SG-553 LB.
